Ingredients:
- 8 potatoes
- 2 onions
- 2 tbsp clarified butter
- fat for greasing the baking dish
- salt & pepper
- 1/8 tsp grated nutmeg
- 3 eggs
- scant cup (200 ml) cream
Directions:
- Peel the potatoes, wash, and cut into thin slices. Peel and chop the onions.
- Heat the clarified butter, add the onions and saute until golden yellow.
- Grease an ovenproof baking dish and arrange the potatoes and onions in layers. Season well with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Whisk the eggs with the cream and pour over the potatoes. Cook in a preheated oven at 390F/200C for approximately 50 minutes until the top is golden brown.
